Configuring > How to Configure LDAP Lookup for Thunderbird

What is LDAP and what is it used for?

LDAP stands for the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol and is used to look up names and contact information for people in the directory. You can use it to lookup the contact information for your professors or teaching assistants or even fellow students depending on their privacy settings.

How do I use LDAP with Thunderbird?

You can use LDAP from Thunderbird to look up names and e-mail address and even add them into your local address book. You can also look online here - https://www.mtu.edu/mtuldap/web_lookup/
